Thiafoura: four days of training, and the Women's Union was born

How do you turn a shared ambition into an organisation that lasts? From 18 to 21 August 2026, CREATES brought together in Thiafoura twenty women representing the village’s four neighbourhoods for a training in organisational dynamics. Four days of hard work - and, at the end of it, one more organisation in the village’s associative landscape.

Training rooted in the field

The training was led by Selbe Faye, a trainer whose expertise and field experience in this area speak for themselves. She guided the participants through a course combining collective reflection and exchange, theoretical input and practical exercises - a pedagogy that starts from what the women already live in order to build, step by step, the tools they need.

The Thiafoura Women’s Union

At the end of the four days, the new THIAFOURA WOMEN’S UNION came into being. Carried by trained and visionary women leaders, it is already looking ahead to a wide range of activities for its members.

We thank the trainer and congratulate the women for their commitment and their diligence. We wish the new Union a trajectory that matches its ambitions, and we will keep supporting it in that direction. Our thanks also go to the CVD of Thiafoura for its continued support and accompaniment.

This training is part of the Thiafoura Living Lab and the TERAL project, which treats the structuring of local organisations - and of women’s collectives in particular - as a condition of the agroecological transition.
