White Forest to screen in New York during Climate Week NYC 2026
White Forest is heading to the United States. The documentary directed by Thomas Grand and Joan Bastide, produced by CREATES, has been selected for the Better Planet Film Festival, part of the official Climate Week NYC 2026 programme.
The screening will take place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at the National Lighthouse Museum on Staten Island, New York. Organised by Build A Better Planet with the museum, the festival devotes two days to independent films on environmental issues.
From Bandia to New York
The film follows Abdou Seck, a 72-year-old beekeeper in Bandia, Senegal, where limestone quarrying has buried the forest under a veil of white dust and driven the bees away. During the week when New York turns its attention to the climate, his fight for his land will be shown to an American audience.
